Jim Ghedi & Owen Spafford.

Jim Ghedi hails from Sheffield, South Yorkshire and although clearly well versed in the history of folk music, he stands out as a potential torch bearer for a new generation of respectful yet experimental performers. His album Wasteland, released in March 2025, saw wide acclaim and was recognised as a profoundly bold sonic statement that is some of the most rich, far-reaching and ambitious work in the Folk genre - pushing the boundaries of what folk music can be.

A highlight of Jim's band, Owen Spafford - a renowned and highly acclaimed fiddle player and composer also from Yorkshire - further hails their progressive approach to pushing boundaries, and blazing a trail that erases genre.
