About Us.

Who are we?

We are Ab, Pippa, Regine and Andre. We come from (and via) many different places in the world, and today we are all lucky to call Hope Valley our home. We originally met as neighbours and quickly became best friends and collaborators, sharing our values, vision and dreams of building community over many conversations around each others’ dining tables.

Together we started Dark Peak Soul Ltd - a private limited company that we run as a social enterprise. This means that we want to be a business with a heart. One that prioritises our meaning and mission over profit.

What is Dark Peak Soul?

Dark Peak Soul is a social enterprise created to support local community wholebeing.

We work through a constellation of local projects including gathering spaces, events, classes, conversations and enterprises that add to the care of the soul of this extraordinary place and its people.

Our focus is on people and planet resilience, connection, health and wholebeing, and our methods involve food, movement, music, nature-connection, finding space and feeling welcome.

We look forward to welcoming you too.

The stars in our constellation.

Community is ‘made of many’, so instead of building a big organisation by ourselves, we work alongside others to expand and deepen together through lots of small, connected projects. That’s how nature works when it is flourishing too - collaboration, relationships and diversity. Growth for us looks like growing together.

Our current collaborative projects include:

  • Open House, Hathersage - a third space for community and connection

  • 10 Trees, Bamford - a community garden for gathering and growing

  • Retreats, Ronksley - day retreats in our homes in Derwent Valley

  • Co-living Project, Bradwell - coming soon!

If you’re interested in hearing more about any of our projects, or if you’d like to collaborate with us on adding another star to our constellation, please get in touch - we’d love to hear from you.

What are our aspirations?

Our aspirations centre around the concept of Wholebeing in Community. We want to foster and grow ideas that help to heal, develop authentic human connection, and build resilient community. We want be part of the movement from me to we to us. We want to inspire minds, open hearts and nourish souls.

How are we funded?

To date everything that has gone into the setup and running of Open House and 10 Trees has been privately funded - from our own pockets. We know that this won't last forever, and so part of our mission is to make our projects financially sustainable, so that they can stand on their own feet and remain in service to the community once we are gone.

Why are we doing this?

Just like the best authors write books that they need, and the best product designers develop products that they need, the truth is that we want and need this as much as all of you. We're on our own journeys of healing and wholebeing just like you are. And we really really need community, and we love being part of this one alongside all of you.
