Qigong (chee-gong) is an ancient practice, originating in China, which combines gentle movement and focused intention to balance and increase life-force energy, or “qi”. It is often described as meditation in motion.
Poh-Eng is a Tai Chi & Qigong Teacher, Buqi & Plant Spirit Medicine Healer, Doula, Freelance Dancer, Environmental Movement Artist and Somatic Movement Practitioner.
In these classes Poh-Eng will be teaching taijiwuxigong (tie-chee-woo-she goong) - a complete self-healing form of qi gong. Expect to learn simple standing and sitting exercises, with a focus on clearing stuck qi/chi. (If stuck qi persists it leads to pain and dis-ease).
This Qigong practice will invite deeper body awareness and release of tensions and alongside movement, simple mantras will be taught to support the practice and calm the mind.

Qigong is a practice with a history of several thousand years which involves using movement and relaxation to circulate, gather and release the qi, the vital energy that underpins good health. Practising qigong is as relevant today as it was long ago, and can increase energy, settle the mind, relax the body and develop the kind of somatic awareness that can support a more fulfilling life.
