This is a flow class - a class to awaken movement and rhythm in the body.
Join us as we replant our awareness into our bodies and enjoy the beautiful and flowing movements of Tai Chi and Qigong. Facilitated by Matthew Laurie, this class will introduce the principles of embodiment alongside a series of traditional qigong movements, tranquil sitting and standing meditation.
This class is for all abilities with guidance and modifications given.

I have taught Wild Goose Qigong and kung fu, and held safe and liminal spaces for people of all walks of life, backgrounds and ages for over fifteen years. I am an authorised teacher with the Tse Qigong Centre, a special needs practitioner, community musician and trainer specialising in non-violent communication and social learning leadership. This experience, together with my Chan Buddhist practice, means I can confidently support people with many different physical, mental and emotional needs.
I live with my daughter and beautiful golden doodle Bella in the Hope Valley, where I enjoy foraging with my partner, playing live music for ecstatic dance and run a folk band for young people.

Qigong is a practice with a history of several thousand years which involves using movement and relaxation to circulate, gather and release the qi, the vital energy that underpins good health. Practising qigong is as relevant today as it was long ago in China and can increase energy, settle the mind, relax the body and develop the kind of somatic awareness that can support a more fulfilling life.
