Ecstatic Dance in Nature with Reya Caroub @ 10 Trees.

Join us for a morning of dance, music and connection, held outdoors in nature and facilitated by Reya.

We’ll begin by gathering in circle, arriving together with some gentle breathwork, movement and grounding, before co-creating an altar to honour the space and the elements. From here, we’ll set our intentions, share cacao (or tea if cacao's not your thing), and move into the dance.

With silent disco headsets for a truly immersive experience, you’ll move through an eclectic, musical journey. This is a space for free movement; there are no steps, no expectations, just an invitation to listen to your body, follow your rhythm, and move with what’s alive for you.

After the dance, you’re welcome to stay and share a relaxed picnic together in the space.

*What to bring:*

  • Layers (you’ll warm up as you move!)

  • Water or tea (hydration is key!)

  • Suncream / hat

  • Snacks / picnic lunch for afterwards

  • Something to sit on

  • Cash for cacao if you’d like some

Headsets provided.

Optional cacao: £3/£5 (please bring correct change):

Cacao & Ecstatic Dance

Cacao and Ecstatic Dance make a wonderful combo! Cacao is made from the minimally processed beans of the cacao tree. Unlike chocolate it retains all the beneficial nutrients that are extracted in chocolate-making.

Traditionally, it has been used to support connection, creativity, and emotional openness. When enjoyed before Ecstatic Dance, Cacao can help open the heart, relax the body, and awaken the senses, making it easier to move freely and connect with yourself and others.

Cacao for this event

Our Cacao comes from the Central Highlands of Perú and is organic, fairtrade and ceremonial grade - which means it has been grown, harvested and processed with reverence for the plant and land.

It is lovingly prepared by Reya using water, cinnamon, vanilla and a sprinkle of chili and is lightly sweetened with coconut sugar. It will be available before the dance in two sizes: £3 (small) and £5 (large). Cash is preferred but BACS is also available.

Good to know

Cacao is not intoxicating or psychedelic and is generally gentle. However, there are some contraindications - if you are currently taking anti-depressants, are sensitive to stimulants or experiencing low blood pressure, please read through this: https://selenohealth.com/blogs/learn-about-cacao/safety-of-cacao and get in touch to discuss a dose that will best support you.

  • To keep the space safe and enjoyable for everyone, we follow these simple guidelines:

    • Speech: No chatting on the dance floor - sounding is welcome but please be considerate of others.

    • Footwear: We like to dance barefoot to ground, but if you need to wear shoes, please bring clean soft indoor shoes and be mindful of people's toes!

    • Boundaries /consent: Respect others' personal space & check for consent before dancing with someone. If you're not sure whether it's a 'yes', treat it like a 'no'. There is no need to dress to impress! This is not a space where you need to look good … this is a movement meditation.

    • Substances: No alcohol, drugs or other substances - this is a sober practice

    • Screen free: No phones or cameras during the dance - drop out of your head and into your body and give yourself the gift of switching off! The team may take short videos/pictures for promotional reasons - if you do not want to be in a video/photo, please let us know before or after the dance.

    • Feel free: dance how you want; as much or as little movement as is right for you - this is a non-judgemental space.  Feel free to close your eyes, bring a blindfold, dance to the wall... you do you!

    • Comfy clothes you can move freely in - layers are useful as you might get really hot dancing then cool down when still.

    • Earplugs if you're sensitive to loud music.

    • A journal and pen if you like to write.

    • Your beautiful self, a water bottle (refills available)  and curiosity!
