Life Drawing with Pauline Rignall.

Join us for our new monthly Life Drawing sessions, a welcoming and inspiring space to develop your observational drawing skills, whilst working from a nude model. These sessions are designed to give the opportunity to draw the human form in a supportive, focused environment, guided by an experienced tutor, who will be on hand throughout to offer advice and feedback.

Whether you are completely new to life drawing or an experienced artist looking to refine your practice, these workshops are suitable for all.

Each session will feature a mix of short and long poses. Short, starting poses will allow us to warm up by exploring quick, energetic sketches, before moving on to more sustained poses, lasting around 20 minutes. Each session we will work with a different model, offering diverse opportunities to observe and draw different body types and poses.

You are welcome to bring your own preferred drawing materials. Artists easels are provided, and a selection of basic supplies will be available.

Come along to build your skills, connect with others, and enjoy the rewarding challenge of drawing from life in a relaxed and encouraging atmosphere.

  • Pauline brings a unique depth of experience to teaching life drawing. She taught for many years at The Mappin Art Gallery when it served as Sheffield’s municipal gallery. While living in London, she also sat as a model for the painter Leon Kossoff, a student of David Bomberg, whose teaching had a profound influence on British painting in the twentieth century.

Pauline further developed her understanding of drawing by attending life drawing classes taught by Sargy Mann at the Camden Institute, an experience that continues to inform the guidance she offers her own students.

She has studied both Scientific Illustration and Fine Art, and her work is exhibited in galleries in Derbyshire, Sheffield, and across the UK.
