All bodies can practice yoga. You don’t need to stand on your head to receive the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits yoga can offer.
This workshop is for everyone, and especially those who find it difficult to access studio classes. With the option to practice in a chair, standing, or seated on the floor, we will explore movement, stillness, and the breath to slow down and anchor ourselves in the present. Integrating the yogic philosophy of ahimsa (self compassion), this practice offers the opportunity to tend to your body, and explore how the way we move impacts the way we feel.
We will provide props to support the postures, but please bring along any additional equipment that makes you as comfortable as possible (e.g.blankets, knee pads, blocks, straps etc). Don’t worry if you don’t have these things, we will adjust as we need to.

Kate first began practicing yoga as a last resort to combat her chronic pain, while looking for answers in modern pain science and psychology. What she found profoundly changed her life. By applying modern pain science to the practice of yoga, meditation, and writing, the pain began to heal. Finding effective, sustainable solutions to chronic pain, Kate trained as a yoga instructor, and completed her masters in cognitive studies, specialising in the causes and treatments of chronic pain. Her work is dedicated to facilitating the empowerment and agency of others, offering people the tools to be active participants in their health, wellbeing, and happiness.
Kate teaches yoga as a celebration of body and the self, creating spaces where yoga is a welcoming and inclusive space for all. Her classes explore movement, breath, and stillness, to connect to the self, recognise your capacity, and cultivate a deeper sense of self-love. Her teaching is based in the belief that nothing needs to be changed or fixed, you already have everything you need.
Interests: off the mat, Kate is a writer, climber, movement enthusiast, and has recently found a love for life drawing. Keen to engage with anything that will get her outside, she is passionate and curious about the different methods of interacting with nature, the body, and creative expression.
